1. One can follow dental care procedure at home. Avoid consuming food that is too hot or cold if you are sensitive so that pain does not aggravate. Diet control is crucial.

2. One should avoid applying pain relief balms topically or it can increase the swelling.

3. Brush your teeth twice daily or use medicated mouthwashes. There are some pastes for tooth sensitivity also that can be used to keep the infection under control for some while, till you have time to visit a dentist.

 

4. Clean the toothbrush properly after use so that it does not remain contaminated.

 

5. The most common dental issue is toothache, for which you have paracetamol. Consult a dentist if there is uncontrolled pain. 

6. Don't brush too hard or too often (more than twice a day).

7. Don't brush or floss immediately after drinking acidic beverage (like soda, sports drink and juices)

8. Drink plentiful water, it aids digestion, fights mouth germs and even has a role in protecting teeth from decay.

9. Tooth decay is the most chronic disease of both children and adult alike. Sugary foods in the diet are major contributors to this. Sugars are consumed by oral bacteria, which then release acids that attack the teeth, leading to tooth decay. The less sugar you consume, the better for your teeth.
